Can you tell me a little more about the process?

It is a combination of real time floor observation and one on one conversations with employees.  The observations play an important role.  You can tell quite a bit from body language during and after an interaction.  Also, it is a good opportunity to see a supervisor's management style which can give clues to why there might be issues at that location.  Most importantly though are the one on one conversations.  I have developed 3 short, very direct questionnaires that are meant to create meaningful dialog to root out any concerns the employee might have.  The questionnaires revolve around culture, workload, training, income and opportunities.

What happens when the visit is over?

Once we're done, a detailed summary will be written up and given to the HR department.  The best practice would be to have a face to face with whomever you deem appropriate.
